AI Policy

The thoughts, the tone, and the vulnerability you see in all my writings - on this website, the blog, emails, and any of my social posts - are 100% human.

I never use fully AI-generated content such as photos and text. I rarely use AI to assist with brainstorming and provide feedback on my writing - including wording, structure, spell checking, and proofreading. This could be when writing here, social media posts for Purposely Digital, or when composing emails.

I do not do this regularly, but save this for times I feel feedback would be particularly helpful and am unable to access human advice.

Nothing about you will ever be fed into AI. No exceptions.

I never, ever feed any information about you or from you (emails, coaching notes, transcripts) into AI ever. I use Proton Mail for all business communications which, unlike Gmail and other providers, does not have AI crawling around the inbox reading messages. If I ask for help with composing an email, I remove everything identifiable in my draft. The only AI I use is Proton’s Lumo because of their commitment to data privacy and AI ethics.

Why I Do This

With a PhD in AI Ethics and Data Privacy and as a professional who helps others navigate AI intentionally, I understand how we all must make decisions around AI use according to our own values and personal circumstances.

When it comes to my values as a professional, I believe it is important that if I ask authenticity, vulnerability, and confidentiality from my coaching clients in our sessions, that I display the same to them in all ways I communicate and operate my business.

Writing is a form of individual expression where we have our own unique tone and way of writing that goes beyond simple words.

Have you ever received a letter, email, or text message from someone, and could "tell" it was them without even looking at the name? Using AI too heavily to write replaces your voice with the voice of someone else - a homogenized smoothie of others' voices from the dataset the AI system was trained on (usually Western and male).

And I want you, whether it be when perusing this website, reading the blog, or emailing back and forth with me, to have a true and honest picture of me as a coach and human. To see if we are a good match. To foster honesty, transparency, and safety. To build rapport and trust. And ultimately, to support you towards your goals and dreams.
